Riding the High Tide: How My Upline Mr. Baloyi Turned Year-End Challenges into Network Marketing Success

A Conversation About Finishing Strong When Others Are Jumping Ship

 

This morning, I had a chat with my upline, Mr. Baloyi. For those who don’t know him, he’s someone who joined our network marketing company at the end of the year, when many leaders were leaving for other opportunities. In just five weeks, he qualified for an overseas incentive—a huge achievement.

I asked him how he did it. He explained that while many people were leaving, discouraged by year-end pressures, he saw it as the perfect time to jump in. It’s like a high tide: some people get swept away, but others who know how to surf catch the wave and ride it to success.

At the end of the year, people get tired, they lose hope, and they follow the crowd. Companies split, people move on, and it’s like a season of both love and breakups. But that’s when someone like Mr. Baloyi brought fresh energy. He knew that even the best swimmers can be taken by the waves if they don’t stay focused.

 

 

Here’s what I learned from him, and here’s what anyone can do:

  1. Look for teams that are excited and growing, even when others are leaving.
  2. Find mentors who see opportunity in chaos.
  3. Stay focused on your long-term goals, even when the year is ending.
  4. Avoid following the crowd out—sometimes staying is where the opportunity is.
  5. Finish strong by building your foundation—relationships, training, and planning.

Mr. Baloyi finished strong because he saw the wave of people leaving as his chance to ride in. That’s why I’m talking about him—because his story shows that no matter how experienced others are, you can succeed if you act at the right time.

So, whether you're new to network marketing or not, this story is about seeing opportunity where others see challenges. I learned that from Mr. Baloyi, and now I hope you can too.
